Safety
COVID-19 Precautions
We are continuing to monitor the state of the virus as we craft our 2021 COVID-19 policies.
We are consulting the ACA's Field Guide for Camps & the
CDC's Summer Camp Suggestions.
Physical Safety
At all times, there is a QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Personnel) on-site.
Additionally, all Instructors are:
Intentionally Trained:
In coaching fundamentals, in leading safety briefings, and in risk mitigation
Background Checked:
Peace of mind goes a long way
First Aid Certified:
Bike falls happen & when they do, First Aid can come in handy
CPR Certified
Social Safety
Many organizations have a no bullying & no harassment policy. Campers know this and often times, their bullying takes place behind the backs' of adults.
We strive to take awareness two steps further. During our staff training, we devote time to studying the subtle signs of bullying, as well as prevention measures. Daley and Haber's article, "Bullying Prevention: Are You Up to Speed?" has been extremely insightful and serves as our discussion guide.
The instructor / camper rapport plays a large role here, in that we hope to tear down walls & be a resource for camper's that are being treated unfairly.
